Hosea 5:7 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 "Priests, nation of Israel, and people in the king's family, listen to me. You have been judged guilty! "You were like a trap at Mizpah and like a net spread on the ground at Tabor.
2 You have done many evil things, so I will punish you all.
3 I know Ephraim. I know what Israel has done. Ephraim, right now you act like a prostitute. Israel is dirty with sin.
4 The people of Israel have done many evil things, and these evil things keep them from coming back to their God. They are always thinking of ways to chase after other gods. They don't know the Lord.
5 Israel's pride is a witness against them, so Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their sin. But Judah will also stumble with them.
6 "The leaders of the people went to look for the Lord. They took their 'sheep' and 'cows' with them, but they did not find the Lord because he refused to accept them.
7 They have not been faithful to the Lord. Their children are from some stranger. And now, he will destroy them and their land again.
8 "Blow the horn in Gibeah. Blow the trumpet in Ramah. Give the warning at Beth-Aven. The enemy is behind you, Benjamin.
9 Ephraim will become empty at the time of punishment. I (God) warn the families of Israel that this really will happen.
10 The leaders of Judah are like thieves trying to steal someone's property, so I will pour out my anger on them like water.
11 Ephraim will be punished. He will be crushed and pressed like grapes, because he decided to follow filth.
12 I will destroy Ephraim, like a moth eating a piece of cloth. I will ruin Judah, like rot on a piece of wood.
13 Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, so they went to Assyria for help. They told their problems to the great king, but he cannot heal you or cure your wound.
14 I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a young lion to the nation of Judah. I myself will rip them to pieces. I will carry them away, and no one can save them.
15 I will go back to my place, until the people admit they are guilty, until they come looking for me. Yes, in their trouble they will try very hard to find me."

2 And the revolters H7846 are profound H6009 to make slaughter H7819 , though I H589 W-PPRO-1MS have been a rebuker H4148 of them all H3605 .
3 I H589 PPRO-1MS know H3045 VQY1MS Ephraim H669 , and Israel H3478 is not H3808 ADV hid H3582 VNQ3MS from H4480 M-PREP-1MS me : for H3588 CONJ now H6258 ADV , O Ephraim H669 , thou committest whoredom H2181 , and Israel H3478 LMS is defiled H2930 .
4 They will not H3808 NADV frame H5414 their doings H4611 to turn H7725 unto H413 PREP their God H430 : for H3588 CONJ the spirit H7307 NFS of whoredoms H2183 is in the midst H7130 of them , and they have not H3808 NADV known H3045 the LORD H3068 EDS .
5 And the pride H1347 of Israel H3478 doth testify H6030 to his face H6440 : therefore shall Israel H3478 and Ephraim H669 fall H3782 in their iniquity H5771 ; Judah H3063 also H1571 CONJ shall fall H3782 with H5973 them .
6 They shall go H1980 with their flocks H6629 and with their herds H1241 to seek H1245 the LORD H3068 EDS ; but they shall not H3808 W-NPAR find H4672 him ; he hath withdrawn H2502 himself from H4480 them .
7 They have dealt treacherously H898 against the LORD H3068 : for H3588 CONJ they have begotten H3205 strange H2114 children H1121 NMP : now H6258 ADV shall a month H2320 devour H398 them with H854 PREP their portions H2506 .
8 Blow H8628 ye the cornet H7782 in Gibeah H1390 , and the trumpet H2689 in Ramah H7414 : cry aloud H7321 at Beth H1007 - aven , after H310 thee , O Benjamin H1144 .
9 Ephraim H669 shall be H1961 desolate H8047 in the day H3117 B-NMS of rebuke H8433 : among the tribes H7626 of Israel H3478 have I made known H3045 that which shall surely be H539 .
10 The princes H8269 CMP of Judah H3063 were H1961 VQQ3MP like them that remove H5253 the bound H1366 CMS : therefore I will pour out H8210 my wrath H5678 upon H5921 PREP-3MP them like water H4325 .
11 Ephraim H669 is oppressed H6231 and broken H7533 in judgment H4941 NMS , because H3588 CONJ he willingly H2974 walked H1980 VQQ3MS after H310 PREP the commandment H6673 .
12 Therefore will I H589 W-PPRO-1MS be unto Ephraim H669 as a moth H6211 KD-NMS , and to the house H1004 of Judah H3063 as rottenness H7538 .
13 When Ephraim H669 saw H7200 W-VIY3MS his sickness H2483 , and Judah H3063 saw his wound H4205 , then went H1980 W-VQY3MS Ephraim H669 to H413 PREP the Assyrian H804 GFS , and sent H7971 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP king H4428 NMS Jareb H3377 : yet could H3201 VQY3MS he H1931 W-PPRO-3MS not H3808 NADV heal H7495 you , nor H3808 ADV cure H1455 you of your wound H4205 .
14 For H3588 CONJ I H595 PPRO-1MS will be unto Ephraim H669 as a lion H7826 , and as a young lion H3715 to the house H1004 of Judah H3063 : I H589 PPRO-1MS , even I H589 PPRO-1MS , will tear H2963 and go away H1980 ; I will take away H5375 VQY1MS , and none H369 W-NPAR shall rescue H5337 VHPMS him .
15 I will go H1980 VQY1MS and return H7725 to H413 PREP my place H4725 , till H5704 PREP they acknowledge their offense H816 , and seek H1245 my face H6440 : in their affliction H6862 they will seek me early H7836 .
