Psalms 37:1 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 A song of David. Don't get upset about evil people. Don't be jealous of those who do wrong.
2 They are like grass and other green plants that dry up quickly and then die.
3 So trust in the Lord and do good. Live on your land and be dependable.
4 Enjoy serving the Lord, and he will give you whatever you ask for.
5 Depend on the Lord. Trust in him, and he will help you.
6 He will make it as clear as day that you are right. Everyone will see that you are being fair.
7 Trust in the Lord and wait quietly for his help. Don't be angry when people make evil plans and succeed.
8 Don't become so angry and upset that you, too, want to do evil.
9 The wicked will be destroyed, but those who call to the Lord for help will get the land he promised.
10 In a short time there will be no more evil people. You can look for them all you want, but they will be gone.
11 Humble people will get the land God promised, and they will enjoy peace.
12 The wicked plan bad things for those who are good. They show their teeth in anger at them.
13 But our Lord will laugh at them. He will make sure they get what they deserve.
14 The wicked draw their swords to kill the poor and the helpless. They aim their arrows to murder all who live right.
15 But their bows will break, and their swords will pierce their own hearts.
16 A few good people are better than a large crowd of those who are evil.
17 The wicked will be destroyed, but the Lord cares for those who are good.
18 The Lord protects pure people all their life. Their reward will continue forever.
19 When trouble comes, good people will not be destroyed. When times of hunger come, good people will have plenty to eat.
20 But evil people are the Lord's enemies, and they will be destroyed. Their valleys will dry up and burn. They will be destroyed completely.
21 The wicked borrow money and never pay it back. But good people are kind and generous.
22 Everyone the Lord blesses will get the land he promised. Everyone the Lord curses will be destroyed.
23 The Lord shows us how we should live, and he is pleased when he sees people living that way.
24 If they stumble, they will not fall, because the Lord reaches out to steady them.
25 I was young, and now I am old, but I have never seen good people left with no one to help them; I have never seen their children begging for food.
26 They are kind and generous, and their children are a blessing.
27 Stop doing anything evil and do good, and you will always have a place to live.
28 The Lord loves what is right, and he will never leave his followers without help. He will always protect them, but he will destroy the families of the wicked.
29 Good people will get the land God promised and will live on it forever.
30 Those who do what is right give good advice. Their decisions are always fair.
31 They have learned God's teachings, and they will never stop living right.
32 The wicked are always looking for ways to kill good people.
33 But the Lord will not let the wicked defeat them. He will not let good people be judged guilty.
34 Do what the Lord says, and wait for his help. He will reward you and give you the land he promised. You will see the wicked being forced to leave.
35 I once saw a wicked man who was powerful. He was like a strong, healthy tree.
36 But then he was gone. I looked for him, but I could not find him.
37 Be pure and honest. Peace loving people will have many descendants.
38 But those who break the law will be destroyed completely. And their descendants will be forced to leave the land.
39 The Lord saves those who are good. When they have troubles, he is their strength.
40 The Lord helps good people and rescues them. They depend on him, so he rescues them from the wicked.

4 Delight thyself H6026 also in H5921 the LORD; H3068 and he shall give H5414 thee the desires H4862 of thine heart. H3820
5 Commit H1556 thy way H1870 unto H5921 the LORD; H3068 trust H982 also in H5921 him ; and he H1931 shall bring it to pass. H6213
6 And he shall bring forth H3318 thy righteousness H6664 as the light, H216 and thy judgment H4941 as the noonday. H6672
7 Rest H1826 in the LORD, H3068 and wait patiently H2342 for him : fret not thyself H408 H2734 because of him who prospereth H6743 in his way, H1870 because of the man H376 who bringeth wicked devices to pass H6213 H4209 .
8 Cease H7503 from anger H4480 H639 , and forsake H5800 wrath: H2534 fret not thyself H408 H2734 in any wise H389 to do evil. H7489
9 For H3588 evildoers H7489 shall be cut off: H3772 but those that wait upon H6960 the LORD, H3068 they H1992 shall inherit H3423 the earth. H776
10 For yet H5750 a little H4592 while , and the wicked H7563 shall not H369 be : yea , thou shalt diligently consider H995 H5921 his place, H4725 and it shall not H369 be .
11 But the meek H6035 shall inherit H3423 the earth; H776 and shall delight themselves H6026 in H5921 the abundance H7230 of peace. H7965
12 The wicked H7563 plotteth H2161 against the just, H6662 and gnasheth H2786 upon H5921 him with his teeth. H8127
13 The Lord H136 shall laugh H7832 at him: for H3588 he seeth H7200 that H3588 his day H3117 is coming. H935

21 The wicked H7563 borroweth, H3867 and payeth H7999 not H3808 again : but the righteous H6662 showeth mercy, H2603 and giveth. H5414
22 For H3588 such as be blessed H1288 of him shall inherit H3423 the earth; H776 and they that be cursed H7043 of him shall be cut off. H3772
23 The steps H4703 of a good man H1397 are ordered H3559 by the LORD H4480 H3068 : and he delighteth H2654 in his way. H1870

31 The law H8451 of his God H430 is in his heart; H3820 none H3808 of his steps H838 shall slide. H4571
32 The wicked H7563 watcheth H6822 the righteous, H6662 and seeketh H1245 to slay H4191 him.
33 The LORD H3068 will not H3808 leave H5800 him in his hand, H3027 nor H3808 condemn H7561 him when he is judged. H8199
34 Wait H6960 on H413 the LORD, H3068 and keep H8104 his way, H1870 and he shall exalt H7311 thee to inherit H3423 the land: H776 when the wicked H7563 are cut off, H3772 thou shalt see H7200 it .
35 I have seen H7200 the wicked H7563 in great power, H6184 and spreading himself H6168 like a green H7488 bay tree. H249
36 Yet he passed away, H5674 and, lo, H2009 he was not: H369 yea , I sought H1245 him , but he could not H3808 be found. H4672
37 Mark H8104 the perfect H8535 man , and behold H7200 the upright: H3477 for H3588 the end H319 of that man H376 is peace. H7965
38 But the transgressors H6586 shall be destroyed H8045 together: H3162 the end H319 of the wicked H7563 shall be cut off. H3772
39 But the salvation H8668 of the righteous H6662 is of the LORD H4480 H3068 : he is their strength H4581 in the time H6256 of trouble. H6869
40 And the LORD H3068 shall help H5826 them , and deliver H6403 them : he shall deliver H6403 them from the wicked H4480 H7563 , and save H3467 them, because H3588 they trust H2620 in him.
