Micah 3:1 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 Then I said, "Listen, leaders of Jacob and officers of the nation of Israel! You should know what justice is.
2 But you hate good and love evil. You tear the skin off the people and tear the flesh off their bones.
3 You are destroying my people. You take their skin off them and break their bones. You chop their bones up like meat to put in the pot!
4 Then you will pray to the Lord, but he will not answer you. No, he will hide his face from you, because what you do is evil."
5 Some false prophets are telling lies to the Lord's people. This is what the Lord says about them: "These prophets are led by their stomachs. They promise peace for those who give them food, but they promise war to those who do not give them food.
6 "This is why it is like night for you, and you don't have visions. You cannot see what will happen in the future, so it is like darkness to you. The sun has gone down on the prophets. They cannot see what will happen in the future, so it is like darkness to them.
7 The seers are ashamed. The fortunetellers are embarrassed. They all will not say anything because God will not speak to them."
8 But the Lord's Spirit has filled me with power, goodness, and strength. So I can tell Jacob about his crimes, and so I can tell Israel about his sins!
9 Leaders of Jacob and rulers of Israel, listen to me! You hate the right way of living! If something is straight, then you make it crooked!
10 You build Zion by murdering people. You build Jerusalem by cheating people!
11 The judges in Jerusalem accept bribes to help them decide who wins in court. The priests in Jerusalem must be paid before they will teach the people. People must pay the prophets before they will look into the future. Then those leaders expect the Lord to help them. They say, "The Lord lives here with us, so nothing bad will happen to us."
12 Leaders, because of you, Zion will be destroyed. It will become a plowed field. Jerusalem will become a pile of rocks. Temple Mount will be an empty hill overgrown with bushes.
1 And I said H559 W-VQY1MS , Hear H8085 VQI2MP , I pray you H4994 IJEC , O heads H7218 CMP of Jacob H3290 , and ye princes H7101 of the house H1004 CMS of Israel H3478 ; Is it not H3808 D-NPAR for you to know H3045 L-VQFC judgment H4941 ?
2 Who hate H8130 the good H2896 AMS , and love H157 the evil H7451 ; who pluck off H1497 their skin H5785 from off H5921 M-PREP them , and their flesh H7607 from off H5921 M-PREP their bones H6106 ;
3 Who H834 W-RPRO also eat H398 the flesh H7607 of my people H5971 , and flay H6584 their skin H5785 from off H5921 them ; and they break H6476 their bones H6106 , and chop them in pieces H6566 , as H834 K-RPRO for the pot H5518 , and as flesh H1320 within H8432 B-NMS the caldron H7037 .
4 Then H227 ADV shall they cry H2199 unto H413 PREP the LORD H3068 EDS , but he will not H3808 W-NPAR hear H6030 VQY3MS them : he will even hide H5641 W-VHI3MS his face H6440 CMP-3MS from H4480 them at that H1931 time H6256 , as H834 K-RPRO they have behaved themselves ill H7489 in their doings H4611 .
5 Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS concerning H5921 PREP the prophets H5030 that make my people H5971 err H8582 , that bite H5391 with their teeth H8127 , and cry H7121 W-VQQ3MP , Peace H7965 NMS ; and he that H834 W-RPRO putteth H5414 VHFA not H3808 NADV into H5921 PREP their mouths H6310 , they even prepare H6942 war H4421 against H5921 PREP him .
6 Therefore H3651 L-ADV night H3915 GMS shall be unto you , that ye shall not have a vision H2377 ; and it shall be dark H2821 unto you , that ye shall not divine H7080 ; and the sun H8121 D-NMS shall go down H935 over H5921 PREP the prophets H5030 , and the day H3117 D-NMS shall be dark H6937 over H5921 PREP them .
7 Then shall the seers H2374 be ashamed H954 , and the diviners H7080 confounded H2659 : yea , they shall all H3605 CMS-3MP cover H5844 their lips H8222 ; for H3588 CONJ there is no H369 NPAR answer H4617 of God H430 NAME-4MP .
8 But truly H199 W-CONJ I H595 PPRO-1MS am full H4390 of power H3581 NMS by H854 the spirit H7307 NFS of the LORD H3068 EDS , and of judgment H4941 W-NMS , and of might H1369 W-NFS , to declare H5046 L-VHFC unto Jacob H3290 his transgression H6588 , and to Israel H3478 his sin H2403 .
9 Hear H8085 VQI2MP this H2063 DPRO , I pray you H4994 IJEC , ye heads H7218 CMP of the house H1004 CMS of Jacob H3290 , and princes H7101 of the house H1004 CMS of Israel H3478 , that abhor H8581 judgment H4941 NMS , and pervert H6140 all H3605 NMS equity H3477 .
10 They build up H1129 VQPMS Zion H6726 with blood H1818 , and Jerusalem H3389 with iniquity H5766 .
11 The heads H7218 thereof judge H8199 for reward H7810 , and the priests H3548 thereof teach H3384 for hire H4242 , and the prophets H5030 thereof divine H7080 for money H3701 : yet will they lean H8172 upon H5921 W-PREP the LORD H3068 EDS , and say H559 L-VQFC , Is not H3808 ADV the LORD H3068 EDS among H7130 us ? none H3808 ADV evil H7451 AFS can come H935 VQY3FS upon H5921 PREP-1MP us .
12 Therefore H3651 L-ADV shall Zion H6726 for your sake H1558 be plowed H2790 as a field H7704 , and Jerusalem H3389 shall become H1961 VQY2MS heaps H5856 , and the mountain H2022 of the house H1004 D-NMS as the high places H1116 of the forest H3293 .
