Numbers 6 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 The Lord said to Moses,
2 "Tell the Israelites this: If there are people, men or women, who want to make a vow dedicating themselves completely to the Lord for a time, they will be called Nazirites.
3 During this time, they must not drink any wine or other strong drink. They must not drink vinegar that is made from wine or from other strong drink. They must not drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins.
4 They must not eat anything that comes from grapes during that special time of separation. They must not even eat the seeds or the skins from grapes.
5 "They must not cut their hair during that special time of dedication. They must be holy until the time that their dedication is ended. They must let their hair grow long. Their hair is a special part of their promise to God, so they must let their hair grow long until this time is ended.
6 "If you have taken the Nazirite vow, you must not go near someone who is dying during that special time of dedication. You have given yourself fully to the Lord,
7 so you must not let yourself become unclean like this—even for your own father or mother, brother or sister when they die. This is because you have the hair that you dedicated to God on your head!
8 It is holy because you have given yourself fully to the Lord for the full time of that dedication.
9 So if you are with someone when they suddenly die, you will be unclean and you will have to shave the hair from your head. You must do that on the seventh day of your purification ceremony when you are made clean.
10 Then on the eighth day, you must bring two doves or two young pigeons and give them to the priest at the entrance of the Meeting Tent.
11 Then the priest will offer one bird as a sin offering and the other one as a burnt offering. The burnt offering will be a payment for the sin of touching a dead body during your special time of dedication. Then you must again promise to give the hair on your head as a gift to God.
12 This means you must again give yourself to the Lord for another time of dedication. You must bring a one-year-old male lamb to offer as a guilt offering. You must start over from the beginning with a new time of dedication because you touched a dead body during your first time of dedication.
13 "After their time of dedication is ended, Nazirites must go to the entrance of the Meeting Tent
14 and give their offering to the Lord. Their offering must be: A one-year-old male lamb that has nothing wrong with it for a burnt offering; A one-year-old female lamb that has nothing wrong with it for a sin offering; One ram that has nothing wrong with it for a fellowship offering;
15 A basket of bread made without yeast (cakes made with fine flour mixed with oil). Oil must be spread on these cakes. The grain offerings and drink offerings that are a part of these gifts.
16 "The priest will give these things to the Lord, and then the priest will make the sin offering and the burnt offering.
17 He will give the basket of bread without yeast to the Lord. Then he will kill the ram as a fellowship offering to the Lord. He will give it to the Lord with the grain offering and the drink offering.
18 "The Nazirites must go to the entrance of the Meeting Tent. There they must shave off their hair that they grew for the Lord. That hair will be put in the fire that is burning under the sacrifice of the fellowship offering.
19 "After the Nazirites have cut off their hair, the priest will give them a boiled shoulder from the ram and a large and a small cake from the basket. Both of these cakes are made without yeast.
20 Then the priest will lift these things up to show they were presented before the Lord. These things are holy and belong to the priest. Also, the breast and the thigh from the ram are lifted before the Lord. These things also belong to the priest. After that the Nazirite can drink wine.
21 "These are the rules for someone who decides to make the Nazirite vow. They must give all of these gifts to the Lord. But they might be able to give much more to the Lord. If they promise to do more, they must keep their promise. But they must give at least all the things listed in these rules for the Nazirite promise."
22 The Lord said to Moses,
23 "Tell Aaron and his sons that this is the way they should bless the Israelites. They should say:
24 May the Lord bless you and keep you.
25 May the Lord smile down on you and show you his kindness.
26 May the Lord answer your prayers and give you peace."
27 Then the Lord said, "In that way Aaron and his sons will use my name to give a blessing to the Israelites, and I will bless them."

2 Speak H1696 VPFC unto H413 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and say H559 unto H413 PREP them , When H3588 CONJ either man H376 NMS or H176 CONJ woman H802 NFS shall separate H6381 themselves to vow H5087 a vow H5088 of a Nazarite H5139 , to separate H5144 themselves unto the LORD H3068 L-NAME-4MS :
3 He shall separate H5144 himself from wine H3196 and strong drink H7941 , and shall drink H8354 no H3808 NADV vinegar H2558 of wine H3196 NMS , or vinegar H2558 of strong drink H7941 , neither H3808 NADV shall he drink H8354 any H3605 W-CMS liquor H4952 of grapes H6025 , nor H3808 NADV eat H398 VQY3MS moist H3892 grapes H6025 , or dried H3002 .
4 All H3605 NMS the days H3117 CMP of his separation H5145 shall he eat H398 VQY3MS nothing H3808 NADV that H834 RPRO is made H6213 of the vine H3196 D-NMS tree H1612 , from the kernels H2785 even to H5704 W-PREP the husk H2085 .
5 All H3605 NMS the days H3117 CMP of the vow H5088 of his separation H5145 there shall no H3808 NADV razor H8593 come H5674 VQY3MS upon H5921 PREP his head H7218 CMS-3MS : until H5704 PREP the days H3117 be fulfilled H4390 , in the which H834 RPRO he separateth H5144 himself unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS , he shall be H1961 VQY3MS holy H6918 , and shall let the locks H6545 of the hair H8181 of his head H7218 CMP-3MS grow H1431 .
6 All H3605 NMS the days H3117 CMP that he separateth H5144 himself unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS he shall come H935 VQY3MS at H5921 PREP no H3808 NADV dead H4191 body H5315 GFS .
7 He shall not H3808 NADV make himself unclean H2930 for his father H1 , or for his mother H517 , for his brother H251 , or for his sister H269 , when they die H4191 : because H3588 CONJ the consecration H5145 of his God H430 CMP-3MS is upon H5921 PREP his head H7218 CMP-3MS .
8 All H3605 NMS the days H3117 CMP of his separation H5145 he H1931 PPRO-3MS is holy H6918 unto the LORD H3068 L-NAME-4MS .
9 And if H3588 any man H4191 VQY3MS die H4191 very H6621 suddenly H6597 ADV by H5921 PREP-3MS him , and he hath defiled H2930 the head H7218 NMS of his consecration H5145 ; then he shall shave H1548 his head H7218 CMS-3MS in the day H3117 B-NMS of his cleansing H2893 , on the seventh H7637 D-ONUM day H3117 B-NMS shall he shave H1548 it .
10 And on the eighth H8066 day H3117 he shall bring H935 two H8147 ONUM turtles H8449 , or H176 CONJ two H8147 ONUM young H1121 pigeons H3123 , to H413 PREP the priest H3548 , to H413 PREP the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 :
11 And the priest H3548 shall offer H6213 W-VQQ3MS the one H259 MMS for a sin offering H2403 , and the other H259 for a burnt offering H5930 , and make an atonement H3722 for H5921 PREP-3MS him , for that he sinned H2398 VQQ3MS by H5921 PREP-3MS the dead H5315 , and shall hallow H6942 his head H7218 CMS-3MS that same H1931 day H3117 B-AMS .
12 And he shall consecrate H5144 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS the days H3117 CMP of his separation H5145 , and shall bring H935 a lamb H3532 of the first H1121 year H8141 for a trespass offering H817 : but the days H3117 that were before H7223 shall be lost H5307 , because H3588 CONJ his separation H5145 was defiled H2930 .
13 And this H2063 is the law H8451 CFS of the Nazarite H5139 , when H3117 B-NMS the days H3117 B-NMS of his separation H5145 are fulfilled H4390 : he shall be brought H935 unto H413 PREP the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 :
14 And he shall offer H7126 his offering H7133 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS , one H259 MMS he lamb H3532 of the first H1121 year H8141 without blemish H8549 for a burnt offering H5930 , and one H259 OFS ewe lamb H3535 of the first H1323 CFS year H8141 without blemish H8549 for a sin offering H2403 , and one H259 MMS ram H352 without blemish H8549 AMS for peace offerings H8002 ,
15 And a basket H5536 of unleavened bread H4682 , cakes H2471 of fine flour H5560 mingled H1101 with oil H8081 , and wafers H7550 of unleavened bread H4682 anointed H4886 with oil H8081 , and their meat offering H4503 , and their drink offerings H5262 .
16 And the priest H3548 shall bring H7126 them before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS , and shall offer H6213 W-VQQ3MS his sin offering H2403 CFS-3MS , and his burnt offering H5930 :
17 And he shall offer H6213 W-VQQ3MS the ram H352 for a sacrifice H2077 NMS of peace offerings H8002 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS , with H5921 PREP the basket H5536 of unleavened bread H4682 : the priest H3548 shall offer H6213 W-VQQ3MS also his meat offering H4503 CFS-3MS , and his drink offering H5262 .
18 And the Nazarite H5139 shall shave H1548 the head H7218 NMS of his separation H5145 at the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 NMS , and shall take H3947 W-VQQ3MS the hair H8181 of the head H7218 NMS of his separation H5145 , and put H5414 W-VQQ3MS it in H5921 PREP the fire H784 which H834 RPRO is under H8478 NMS the sacrifice H2077 NMS of the peace offerings H8002 .
19 And the priest H3548 shall take H3947 W-VQQ3MS the sodden H1311 shoulder H2220 of H4480 PREP the ram H352 , and one H259 OFS unleavened H4682 cake H2471 out of H4480 PREP the basket H5536 , and one H259 MMS unleavened H4682 wafer H7550 , and shall put H5414 W-VQQ3MS them upon H5921 PREP the hands H3709 of the Nazarite H5139 , after H310 ADV the hair of his separation H5145 is shaven H1548 :
20 And the priest H3548 shall wave H5130 them for a wave offering H8573 before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS : this H1931 PPRO-3MS is holy H6944 for the priest H3548 , with H5921 PREP the wave H8573 breast H2373 and heave H8641 shoulder H7785 : and after that H310 W-ADV the Nazarite H5139 may drink H8354 wine H3196 .
21 This H2063 DPRO is the law H8451 CFS of the Nazarite H5139 who H834 RPRO hath vowed H5087 , and of his offering H7133 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS for H5921 PREP his separation H5145 , beside H905 ML-NMS that that H834 RPRO his hand H3027 CFS-3MS shall get H5381 : according to H6310 K-CMS the vow H5088 which H834 RPRO he vowed H5087 , so H3651 ADV he must do H6213 VQY3MS after H5921 PREP the law H8451 CFS of his separation H5145 .
22 And the LORD H3068 EDS spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS unto H413 PREP Moses H4872 , saying H559 ,
23 Speak H1696 VPFC unto H413 PREP Aaron H175 and unto H413 W-PREP his sons H1121 CMP-3MS , saying H559 L-VQFC , On this wise H3541 ye shall bless H1288 the children H1121 CMP-3MS of Israel H3478 , saying H559 unto them ,
24 The LORD H3068 EDS bless H1288 thee , and keep H8104 thee :
25 The LORD H3068 EDS make his face H6440 CMP-3MS shine H215 upon H413 PREP-2MS thee , and be gracious H2603 unto thee :
26 The LORD H3068 EDS lift up H5375 VQY3MS his countenance H6440 CMP-3MS upon H413 PREP-2MS thee , and give H7760 W-VQI3MS thee peace H7965 .
27 And they shall put H7760 my name H8034 upon H5921 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 ; and I H589 W-PPRO-1MS will bless H1288 them .
